VW Engine Centre Manufacturers of the RG
range of experimental and ultra light aircraft engines. Based on
the concept of more 2 place and STOL performnce planes entering
the market and requiring a more powerful engine the gear driven
unit to adapt to a Type 4 bus engine was developed. Allowing the
engine to rev more freely to acquire 100 hp but allow the
propeller rpm to be more suited to a more efficient rpm the

"South to South" Microlight Adventure |
|
The longest microlight flight ever! From
March to November 1999 Mike Blyth and Olivier Aubert flew their
two trikes from South America to South Africa, covering over
43'000 km in 8 months of true adventure. They had no sponsor and
no ground crew. The original plan was to fly from South America
to Australia but Japan asked too much for the landing fees and
the two pilots decided in Mexico to drastically change their
plans and fly back home to Geneva Switzerland. |
